July 2000 anneal report for program 8410.
There was an anneal of the CCD on July 28th, 2000, 30 days after the
previous anneal on June 28, 2000. A homogeneous set of data was obtained
from proposal 8410: The Continuing Monthly Anneal Monitor.
For the most part, previous trends continue. The rate of hot pixel
continues growing within the average of previous months.
The last anneal period the mean post-anneal dark count-rate showed a
flattening and in this anneal period it seems to be decreasing.
1) The number of post anneal hot pixels continue increasing consistent
with the previously determined long term trends.
> 0.1 e/s: 14875 pixels on July 28
> 1.0 e/s: 3016
> 10. e/s: 337
> 0.1 e/s: 14539 pixels on June 28
> 1.0 e/s: 2972
> 10. e/s: 329
> 0.1 e/s: 14295 pixels on June 1
> 1.0 e/s: 2988
> 10. e/s: 315
> 0.1 e/s: 14628 pixels on May 6
> 1.0 e/s: 3004
> 10. e/s: 324
2) The *raw* post-anneal dark countrate for this anneal is 0.0228 cts/pixel.
This compares with 0.0227 cts/pixel in June 28, 2000, and 0.024 cts/pixel in
July 27 1999.
3) The iterated median count rate (after iterating up to 30 times by
eliminating pixels +/- 5*sigma) is 0.00389, less than last month.
4) The creation rates for hot pixels over this period were within the normal
range
> 0.1 e/s: 40.2 pixels/day in July 28 2000
> 1.0 e/s: 4.4
> 10 e/s: 0.2
> 0.1 e/s: 61.8 pixels/day in June 28 2000
> 1.0 e/s: 6.9
> 10 e/s: 0.9
> 0.1 e/s: 14.4 pixels/day in June 1 2000
> 1.0 e/s: 1.0
> 10 e/s: 0.0
> 0.1 e/s: 52.4 pixels/day in July 27 1999
> 1.0 e/s: 4.9
> 10 e/s: 0.5
5) The rate at which new hot pixels annealed out was within the normal range
of fluctuations.
> 0.1 e/s: 71.2% annealed away in the June 28 00 anneal.
> 1.0 e/s: 65.4%
> 10 e/s: -60.0%
> 0.1 e/s: 84.8% annealed away in the June 28 00 anneal.
> 1.0 e/s: 108.9%
> 10 e/s: 39.0%
> 0.1 e/s: 192.2% annealed away in the June 1 00 anneal.
> 1.0 e/s: 166.7%
> 10 e/s: -800.0%
