July 2004 anneal report for program 10022
There was an anneal of the CCD on July 9, 2004, 30 days after the
previous anneal of June 10. A homogeneous set of data was obtained
from proposal 10022: CCD Hot Pixel Annealing.
For the most part, past trends continue. The number of post anneal
hot pixels continues to increase. The post-anneal dark now shows 20549
hot pixels.
1) The *raw* post-anneal dark count rate for this anneal is 0.03012
cnts/pixel. This compares with 0.02781 cnts/pixel in June and 0.02913
cnts/pixel in May 2004. The count rate per year is 0.001477 cnts/pixel/year
for Side-2 electronics.
2) The iterated median count rate (after iterating up to 30 times by
eliminating pixels +/- 5*sigma) is 0.005796 cnts/pixel which is up from
the previous month. The count rate per year is 0.000551 cnts/pixel/year.
3) The creation rates for hot pixels over this period show the same type
of fluctuations as the preceding months.
> 0.1 e/s: 45.2 pixels/day in June
> 1.0 e/s: 14.7
> 10 e/s: 3.3
> 0.1 e/s: 10.7 pixels/day in May
> 1.0 e/s: -0.5
> 10 e/s: -0.6
> 0.1 e/s: 6.3 pixels/day in early April
> 1.0 e/s: 5.2
> 10 e/s: 1.6
4) The rate at which new hot pixels annealed out was also within the normal
range of fluctuations.
> 0.1 e/s: 54.1% annealed away in June.
> 1.0 e/s: 60.2%
> 10 e/s: 51.0%
> 0.1 e/s: 130.5% annealed away in May
> 1.0 e/s: -107.7%
> 10 e/s: 80.0%
> 0.1 e/s: -42.1% annealed away in April
> 1.0 e/s: -9.7%
> 10 e/s: -20.5%
Cumulative plots of total post-anneal hot pixels, and the new pixel
anneals are attached.
