CALSTIS V2.9a and 2.9b Release Notes
Calstis version 2.9a and 2.9b were installed in the pipeline on
01May01 and 03May01, respectively. These are not yet available
for download, but will be in a future STSDAS release.
CALSTIS 2.9a:
A new 'subscale' argument was added to calstis6, but it had not been
included in two functions (calstis0 and calstis6idt) that call calstis6,
so in calstis version 2.9 there was a calling-sequence mismatch. The
files calstis0.c and calstis6idt.c were modified to fix this.
CALSTIS 2.9b:
This release closes OPR 43769. CALSTIS6 (x1d) used wrong switch settings
with SC2D algorithm which was fixed in this OPR, the details of which follow.
When executing the 2-D scattered light correction algorithm, CALSTIS6 runs
itself in "standard" mode as part of the algorithm loop. In these internal
runs, both the FLUXCORR and HELCORR switches must be turned off. However,
when run in standard extraction mode, CALSTIS6 overwrites these settings
by reinitializing both switches from the input file header. This causes
the scattered light correction algorithm to use slightly modified
wavelengths (by the heliocentric correction factor) and the results will
be sligthly in error. Typical relative deviations caused by this error
are of the order of 1 part in 10^5.
