The trade-off between using the G230MB or the G230M (which uses the NUV-MAMA) grating modes, depends sensitively on the science goals and your source properties. Figures below show a direct comparison of some of the properties of the G230MB and G230M modes. See also “Comparison of G230LB and G230L”.
