STIS is Back, Alive, and Kicking
The STIS has been recovered on Tuesday July 10th using the redundant "side 2" electronics,
and several test exposures have been taken since then. We'd like to take this opportunity
to inform the user community about the great news that the recovery has been successful.
STIS is in business again!
Moving Targets: Ephemeris and Tracking Accuracies
STScI currently uses the best planetary system ephemerides available from JPL.
Observers of solar-system targets may wish to familiarize themselves with
newly posted information on ephemeris and tracking accuracies.
Change to CCD Imaging Throughput Calibration
A significant change has been made to the adopted flux calibration for STIS/CCD imaging
modes.
STIS Web Site Redesigned
The STIS Web site has been redesigned and updated. Check it out!
Revised STIS Instrument Handbook for Cycle 11
A slightly revised version 5.1 of the STIS Instrument Handbook is now available.
Version 5.1 includes an update of STIS operations in Chapter 2 and minor, but
significant changes to the discussion of sky backgrounds and the Exposure Time
Calculator in Chapter 6.
