NOTE: An error in the HISTORY header keyword block has been fixed since
the original announcement of the IDCTAB's release on 19 July. All
coefficients in the updated version of the file are identical to
those in the earlier version.
The Image Distortion Table (IDCTAB) released here contains unique
polynomial function calibrations for ten UVIS filters (F225W, F275W,
F336W, F390W, F438W, F555W, F606W, F775W, F814W, and F850LP) and
corrects ~0.1-degree rotations between the four filter solutions
(F225W, F275W, F336W, and F606W) in the preceding alpha release
(6-4-2010). For all other filters in this IDCTAB, the values of the
polynomial coefficient are those of the F606W polynomials. Image
shifts caused by filter wedge (~0.5 pixel) are not calibrated in
this release. The previous two alpha releases had unique
calibrations for F606W only (9-29-2009), or the previously mentioned
four filters (6-24-2010). For the newly calibrated ten filters,
displacements between rectified images less than 0.1 pixel (0.06
pixel r.m.s.) can be obtained with MultiDrizzle and a
user-determined shift file that represents differential shift,
magnification, and rotation between exposures.
