Optimal PSF Fitting

The maximum possible signal-to-noise ratio results from weighting each pixel in the PSF by the signal contained in that pixel. This is effectively equivalent to PSF fitting.

This is the method assumed by early versions of the WFPC2 exposure time calculator.
