The year 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Fellowship Program. For virtually all of its existence, the HF Program has been and remains one of the leading fellowship programs in the field of astronomy and astrophysics (sometimes called the "gold standard"). More than two hundred of the most prominent and active scientists in this field have been supported at a crucial phase in their careers by this program. The Hubble Fellowship Program has been one of the highlights of the overall Hubble Space Telescope Program.

Each year, the current (~35) Hubble Fellows convene at STScI for a three-day Symposium to present the results of their recent research and to meet face-to-face with other Hubble Fellows and the STScI scientific and administrative staff who manage the program. For the special, twentieth anniversary edition of the HF Symposium, we invited all former Hubble Fellows and several scientists who were instrumental in creating and running the HF Program. A dozen or so of these additional participants were asked to speak about their experiences with the HF Program and/or their scientific research. The Symposium, held at STScI on Mar. 8-11, was extended from three to four days to accommodate these extra talks.
