Upcoming Events:
You are invited to attend “The Universe Beyond Your Eyes”
professional
development workshop for middle school science educators. The workshop will be
held Monday, June 29th at the Space Telescope Science Institute. The
day’s
activities will include a science content presentation about the Hubble Space
Telescope and demonstrations of inquiry-based, classroom activities. During
the
demonstrations participants will explore topics such as Light and Color,
Infrared Light, Optics and Galaxies. Participants also will develop an
understanding of how technology is essential to scientific progress, and will
relate the significance of the electromagnetic spectrum to astronomy.
Educators
will receive a free sample packet of Hubble curriculum support tools for their
classroom.
Workshop attendance and participation is free of charge, however, space is
limited to the first 35 registrants.
To register for the Youth for Astronomy and Engineering Program Teachers'
Workshop, please send in or fax your completed application form by June 22nd.
