The COS+STIS Team resides in the Instruments Division and supports science operations of the two main spectrographic instruments on HST. These are the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS), which was installed during HST Servicing Mission 4 (SM4), and the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS), which was installed in 1997, and which has now resumed operations after a successful repair during SM4, following a nearly 5 year hiatus. The team is responsible for instrument calibrations and documentation, and provides support to Guest and Guaranteed Time Observers using these instruments. Having a combined team support these two instruments allows for sharing of expertise and more effective and efficient accomplishment of common tasks.
