The Science Mission & Scheduling Branch (SMSB) of STScI maintains the master, multi-year science-observing plan, which combines HST science program requirements with the operational constraints. Combined with calibration programs and engineering activities, the group also generates the weekly HST flight calendars. These calendars are turned into detailed Science Mission Specifications, and ultimately into the Command Loads which are uplinked and executed by HST.
