Caroline Herschel Visitor Program The "Caroline Herschel" Visitor Program to Enhance Women & Minority Representation at STScI was designed with two goals in mind.

1) Providing a stimulating and productive environment for colleagues in the community to spend time at the Space Telescope Science Institute working and lecturing on their scientific projects.

2) Providing active mentoring to the STScI junior scientists, especially women and other underrepresented groups.

Program details:

- The program is open to all distinguished scientists from the astronomical community.

- Travel and lodging expenses would be covered, but not salary support.

- Typical visits would be 1 - 3 months (e.g., while on a research leave or part of a sabbatical), but exceptions would be considered.

- We envision the "Caroline Herschel" visitors meeting regularly with the STScI junior staff, women and minority scientists, and being members of selected short term committees. They would also be invited to participate in panel discussions organized within the mentoring program.
