The current version of stsci_python is 2.12 (August 2011).
Users who wish to use the tasks in stsci_python with the PyRAF/STSDAS/IRAF interface (e.g. MultiDrizzle, PyDrizzle) will need to download and install STSDAS and TABLES. STSDAS/TABLES download page.
stsci_python depends on several other software packages:
- Python 2.5, 2.6, or 2.7
(STSCI_PYTHON does not work with python 3.0) - Tcl/Tk (8.4)
- IRAF (2.14)
- readline (5.2)
- STSDAS / TABLES (3.12)
- Numpy (1.3 - earlier versions will not work)
- Pmw (1.3.2)
- urwid (0.9.7, 0.9.9.1) (optional)
- ipython (0.8.1) (optional)
- matplotlib (1.0.0) (optional)
You can find a list of that software, tested versions, and places to download it on the STSCI_PYTHON Support Software page.
The Windows executables require Python 2.7.
