This website contains the JMS 1.3 tools only.
The Phase II SODRM tools are available with the
JMS 1.5
release.
The JWST Mission Simulator (JMS) employs models of the dominant background sources, instrumental throughput, and OTE image quality to compute the required exposure time, signal-to-noise ratio, or limiting sensitivity for an astronomical target. JMS can also schedule a suite of observations and compute the required exposure time and overhead. Further information may be found on the help page, or the pages of the individual tools.
Pre-computed reports, generated from the Exposure Time, Sensitivity, Mission Elapsed Time, and Backgrounds tools, are available from the Sample JMS Reports page. These reports were created using baseline spacecraft, detector, and observation (DRM) specifications.
