JWST Science Simulations

A number of science simulations have been performed to investigate feasibility of observations and to guide optimal telescope and instrument design. Please note that several of these simulations were constructed several years ago and will be replaced in the near future.

The simulations presented here are simulations of what imaging observations might look like on real JWST detectors. This in contrast with the calculations performed by the current version of the JWST Mission Simulator (JMS), which takes object, background and telescope/instrument parameters and calculates required exposure and overhead time to reach a certain level of signal- to-noise for a set of observations.

We will show more simulations as they become available. We urge the community to submit their simulations to for publication on these pages.
