Request Activation of Target of Opportunity

 
Activating Your Target of Opportunity Program describes the steps taken to schedule your observations. You should verify that we have received your request by contacting one of the people on the list provided at the end of this form.

Reason for Activation Describe what has happened to justify this activation (e.g. a nova outburst, a supernova, a gamma ray burst, a newly discovered comet, and so on) and why the observations need to be done now. The reason should be consistent with the type of event and plan of observations already specified in your program.

Changes to Visits Are any changes needed to the visits (Yes/No)?
If you answered yes, please specify them. (Note: These changes may require resubmission of your Phase II program)
Scheduling Requirements For each visit please specify the earliest and latest start times to meet your program's requirements. Be as flexible as you can. If we cannot accommodate these windows due to HST restraints, your request may be declined.
   
              
THE PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR (PI) or a suitable representative must be available 24 hours a day, preferably by phone, so that the observations can be properly implemented and scheduled. After submitting this form, the PI MUST contact someone at the institute by phone to verify that we have received your request.
