ESS Division The Engineering and Software Services Division develops software and provides telescope, instrument and system engineering services for STScI, NASA and the astronomical community for the missions that STScI supports including the Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope (formerly known as the Next Generation Space Telescope) , and the Multimission Archive, as well as for other astronomical observatories and missions.
