The Spacecraft Systems Branch (SCSB) develops and maintains spacecraft commanding
systems and Project Reference Database systems for HST and JWST. A Project Reference Database is a common central repository for all mission critical parameters. Commanding
systems translate observation schedules into detailed low level spacecraft commands. These systems also schedule overhead activities such as ground communication events. Commanding systems also verify spacecraft health and safety relative to planned observations.
