PyDrizzle provides an automated method for dither-combining
and distortion-correcting images using tasks from IRAF
STSDAS Dither package. The task was written using the
Python scripting language and PyRAF.
It can be used interactively using either an IRAF task
interface or using the Python scripting language for
interactive or automated data analysis. PyDrizzle has
been developed by the Science Software Branch at the Space
Telescope Science Institute.
STSDAS Version 3.3 includes the prototype versions of
PyDrizzle and MultiDrizzle as part of the Dither package,
although they have been renamed. In addition, only the IRAF interfaces
for the latest versions of PyDrizzle and MultiDrizzle are included
with the Dither package. PyDrizzle has been rewritten, along with
MultiDrizzle, as Python tasks independent of IRAF, and the actual code
will be distributed with the
STSCI_PYTHON package.
The prototype version of PyDrizzle available as part of STSDAS Version 3.2
and earlier will no longer be distributed after STSDAS Version 3.3.
