Visit any astronomer's website and you'll invariably find the same URLs on their 'links' page - e.g. BBC news (or local variation thereof), astro-ph, ADS, NED, etc.. Well I've already got those on the favourites menu of my browser. So instead, here's some things I think that anyone who reads this may find interesting - in a procrastination/distraction sort of way.
Cartoons (in no particular order)
A Miracle of Science - When scientists use their power for evil.
XKCD - Maths can actually be funny
Girl Genius 101 - The beginning of the Girl Genius series.
Order of the Stick - The funiest RPG/D&D comic out there.
8-Bit Theatre - Black mage gets all the best lines.
Lackadaisy - Incredible artwork.
Concerned - If you've played Half Life 2, you should read this.
The Perry Bible Fellowship - Brilliant, no need to say anything else.
Penny Arcade - The gamer's staple comic.
Cascadia - On hiatus but very pretty.
The Joy of Tech - Comic for mac users.
rice boy - Surreal.
Dresden Codak - Surreal science.
VG cats - Potty mouth gaming cats (better than 'little gamers').
Demonology 101 - The comic that actually came to an end.
Everything else :-)
Slashdot - Why yes, I am a nerd.
Instructables - Sometimes humans can be pretty ingenious.
Future Past - where's my hovercar?
Art of Greg Martin - Space: it's big and very pretty.
GFXartist.com - Good for wasting a few hours.
3D Total - Handy tutorials.
NeHe - The definitive OpenGL guide.
More to come when I get around to updating this...
Oh and I suppose I should link these blogs:
[insert witty title] - Ramblings of a bearded man
Room 311 - Pontifications on life, the universe and everything - literally.
ICC Mofos - Theorists and their computers.
NPRs Research - Everything you ever needed to know about cross-correlating LRGs.
Honey-Bee Log - Boy meets bee.
Whisky Club - Astronomers get more drunk than usual.
soapbox - Dartmouth astronomers will blog anything.
Cosmic Variance - Senior astronomers reflect on the world of astronomy.
And if you were looking for astronomy links, then here's a good place for them.
