The LCD.

Straight away I found Matrix Orbital, who make some very nice graphical LCDs:

Hey, I could interface it with me as well as the computer Took their Lucky Charms did you?

However I couldn't easily get them here in the UK - and it looks like they would be prohibitively expensive. So instead I settled for their 20x4 character USB (as my laptop doesn't have a serial port) LCD screen:

The POWER! Woo-Hoo!!

Which can be picked up from KustomPCs for a.. erm.. moderate amount.

Ok so I've got the LCD, now how am I going to mount it? Well I was originally thinking of some kind of brushed aluminium stand - but me and sharp metal don't go well together, so acrylic looks looks like a good idea. Happily enough, KustomPCs sell a particularly suitable size of clear acryllic which goes well (maybe) with my Headroom BitHead headphone amp that I'll be using this with.

I like music - that's how I justify the price.
