Personal Review - 17 July 2000:
Recently, we gave Ruby Tuesday another try. However, this time we were there
during the week, mid-afternoon, BEFORE the rowdy teens showed up. It was a
much more pleasant environment. I believe the menu has changed a bit since
the last visit some time ago, but there is still a very nice selection of
entrees and the quality of food and service was still very good. But if you
you want a pleasant meal, head the advice from the earlier review, pick your
time to visit carefully.
Personal Review :
Ruby Tuesday restaurants have been a favorite of ours for years. We could
always count on quality food and service, as well as a nice atmosphere (a
little on the noisy side, perhaps, since most are in malls, but acceptable).
Unfortunately, the new Ruby Tuesday at White Marsh Mall suffers on at least
2 of the 3 points. The service was very good (we've been to this one twice).
The food, in general, did not seem up to par with other establishments in the
chain. But the most detrimental feature was the atmosphere. If you are
offended by loud, crude, fowl-mouthed mall-going teenagers, this is definitely
not the place for you, especially if you have small children with you.
Our entire meal was turned into a very unpleasant experience thanks to the
teens. Patrons at an adjoining table with small children present were also
noticely disturbed and ate quickly to leave. We stuck it out, but made our
concerns known to the waitress (not that she could do much). At any rate,
this visit cured us. We will not return to the White Marsh Ruby Tuesday...
not unless the management starts excersizing their authority and starts
preventing such rowdy behavior.
