It is demonstrated that axisymmetric models with f=f(E,L_z) cannot
simultaneously fit the observed surface photometry and kinematical
data on NGC 720. Axisymmetric models in which the velocity ellipsoid
aligns with cylindrical coordinate axes and which have [v_phi^2] =
[v_R^2] do provide an acceptable fit.
