Software Conditions
Copyright
- I hold the copyright to any software developed before
I started my employment with AURA (1997 and earlier). Subsequent
software fall under the AURA copyright
conditions.
Acknowledgments
- If you have found any of the programs useful for your
research, and have used them for a publication, then please provide an
appropriate acknowledgment to me an my collaborators (as listed in
the manual to each package).
Feedback
- If you use the software, then email me your address, so that I can
send you revisions and bug reports.
- Please email me
reports of new bugs and of additions that you have made to the software,
and send me your questions.
Distribution
- Please do not accept this software from third
parties, and do not distribute it to third parties. People should get
the software from my website, to ensure that the latest version is
being distributed.
Caveats
- All programs come without guarantee and on an `as is'
basis. The programs are not being actively maintained or upgraded.
Hardware and software requirements
- All programs were developed and tested on a Sun UNIX
workstation running either the SunOS or Solaris operating system.
It is not guaranteed that the software will work without problems on
other platforms, with different operating systems and different
compilers. However, the code is close to standard fortran, so if any,
only minor revisions will be necessary.
- Some of the programs require linking to common
astronomical software libraries, such as IRAF or MONGO. I cannot
provide these software if they are not available at your institution.
