The Inaugural Mid-Atlantic Radio-Loud AGN Meeting (MARLAM) will be held Friday, September 27th, 2013 at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore. This is intended to be the kick-off for a series of regular meetings of researchers and students working on RL AGN in the Mid-Atlantic area (e.g., within driving distance of Baltimore/Washington, DC), with hosting location rotating through local institutions. This one-day meeting will feature talks on the latest research and discoveries in RL AGN and related topics, in order to foster a greater contact in the local community and give opportunity to local scientists to give a more informal and informative talk on their research than might be possible at larger meetings.
To request a talk at the upcoming meeting, please email Eileen Meyer at email@example.com with a title and brief abstract by August 15th, 2013. Length of the talks will be determined after submissions have closed. We particularly encourage submissions by current graduate students and post-docs. There will be no posters at the meeting; however, it will also be possible to register to attend without giving a talk. If that is the case, you must still register by sending your name, title, and institution to firstname.lastname@example.org so that all participants receive email updates about the meeting and we reserve a large enough space.
Once you have successfully registered for the meeting, please follow the links above for directions to STScI and the workshop location, as well as parking information. The meeting and parking are free; however, coffee and lunch arrangements will either be at the discretion of the participants or available for a separate charge (details will be posted/emailed after the submission deadline).
