New bad pixel masks for all cameras are being created using data available from the initial lifetime of NICMOS - March 1997 - January 1999. These masks will be delivered to CDBS and can be retrieved either from there, or the NICMOS instrument web site. You can also click on the images below to download a FITS copy of the images.

These new badpixel masks also mean that a complete reprocessing of the Reference Flat Field files needs to be undertaken. The original reference files were compiled using CAL images, and all previously known bad pixels were 0'd out in the final image. Since this analysis has updated the known badpixels in each camera, the only way to correct the flat field images is by making completely new reference files. This also means that the new flatfields will have the most current linearity files and temperature dependant darks included in their reprocessing. This work is currently underway and should be finished by the start of SMOV3b in March 2002. The new reference files will be delivered to CDBS and automatically included in the calibration pipeline routines.
