My life as an astronomer has begun as
I majored astronomy at the Yonsei
University in Seoul, Korea. I then entered the astronomy graduate program in the
University of Virginia on August 2000, and
obtained my Ph.D. degree on May 2004. After completing my thesis work, I had to come
back to Korea for my military obligation as a Korean citizen. I worked as a research
associate for two years (Feb 2004 -- Apr 2006) at the
Korea Astronomy & Space Science Institute (KASI). I then worked at the Space
Astrophysics Lab in Caltech for 3 years hired as a
research associate by Yonsei University. Currently, I'm working at the STScI in
Baltimore, MD. I live in the Rosedale, MD with my lovely wife Yewon
(pronounced as Yay-Won) and my daugther Ella.
