Speakers: Dr. Denton Gibson (NASA's Kennedy Space Center) and Dr. Jessica Lu (University of California, Berkeley)

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope—NASA’s next astrophysics flagship mission— is slated to launch on August 30, 2026. Dr. Gibson, Launch Director with NASA's Launch Services Program, will discuss the engineering behind the telescope’s lift-off and the path to its final destination. Additionally, Dr. Lu will examine Roman’s science potential to survey the heart of our Milky Way galaxy and find a variety of objects—including isolated black holes—using innovative techniques.
