The 15th Meeting of the JWST Advisory Committee (JSTAC)

Thu 6 Jul 2017
Fri 7 Jul 2017

The JSTAC met at STScI on July 6-7 2017. The committee heard updates on the status, schedule, and budget of the JWST program from NASA HQ and GSFC. STScI presented updates on a full range of user support issues including proposal planning and user support tools; the JWST user documentation schedule; and the data processing pipeline and calibration plans. STScI also summarized the response from the community to the Call for Notices of Intent for the Director’s Discretionary Early Release Science program, and described the preparations for the DD ERS proposal review and the Cycle 1 GO Call. This was the final meeting of the JSTAC and the committee discussed the transition to the JWST Users Committee (JSTUC), which will include several members of the JSTAC. The Director thanks the committee members for their invaluable advice and service over the past 8 years.
