Description

This talk will provide an overview of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) global cloud infrastructure as well as advanced services such as high-performance computing (HPC), data analytics, and machine learning (ML). Fully managed artificial intelligence (AI) services to help researchers build, train, and deploy ML models in various domains including Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP) will also be outlined. Supervised and unsupervised based learning frameworks and their implications in the fields of Scientific Computing, Medical Imaging, Cancer Detection, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Voice-enabled solutions to improve management of chronic disease will be discussed. A few examples will be drawn from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, AWS Open Data Program, and NASA's Desert Research. The AWS Research Initiative with funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as AWS Cloud Credit for Research Program will also be outlined.

Speaker:  Sanjay Padhi (AWS Research Initiatives)
