The First Year of JWST Science Conference
About Event
Location
Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI)
3700 San Martin Drive
Baltimore, MD 21218
Description
STScI will host a science conference, celebrating the first full year of science with JWST. The conference will feature a broad science program, with invited overview presentations summarizing results from the major areas of research with JWST, from early galaxies, to exoplanets, and the solar system. Submissions for contributed talks and posters are welcome from any topic advanced by JWST observations. A small number of late abstracts will be accepted to encourage the discussion of late-breaking results based on recently acquired data. The meeting format will include time for informal discussions and is intended to encourage interdisciplinary interactions within the JWST Observer community.

COVID-19 POLICY
Recent changes in the state and federal policies regarding mask requirements impact our ability to require in-person participants to wear masks. While strongly recommended, attendees are no longer required to wear masks.
Although we are unable to enforce a masking policy that differs from the current guidelines set by AURA/STScI, we want to assure attendees that your well-being and safety remain our top priority. We recognize that many have made travel arrangements and decisions based on the initial policy, taking into consideration factors such as disabilities, compromised immune systems, and other personal circumstances. We want to emphasize that we respect and value the diverse needs of our community, and we want everyone to feel welcome and protected during the conference.
Although masks are not required, we strongly encourage all attendees to consider wearing masks as a means of safeguarding their own health and the well-being of their colleagues. We will have masks available at the conference registration table for your convenience, making it easier for those who choose to utilize them. By wearing a mask, you not only demonstrate your commitment to protecting yourself but also show support for those who may have concerns or underlying health conditions. We aim to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable participating in the conference activities.
