About This Article

On June 4, NASA announced that Hubble is transitioning to Reduced Gyro Mode (RGM). While this mode places limitations on field of regard, tracking speed, and scheduling flexibility, Hubble will pursue incredible science for many years in this mode, and we expect most of Hubble's active programs to be feasible after the transition. In the week of June 11, we will be contacting investigators of active programs to begin the Phase II revisions that may be needed to execute their programs in RGM.
