NASA and STScI have finalized the JWST Cycle 1 proposal schedule leading up to a March 30, 2021 launch date. The Call for Proposals for Cycle 1 General Observer (GO) programs will be issued on January 23, 2020, followed by a submission deadline on May 1, 2020. The submitted proposals will be reviewed by a Telescope Allocation Committee meeting in Baltimore in late July/early August in 2020.

Updated proposals from Guaranteed Time Observers (GTOs), including members of the instrument teams, will be due on June 25, 2019. Revised versions of the Director’s Discretionary Time Early Release Science (DD-ERS) programs are due by the same deadline. Read the GTO Call for Proposals for additional details.
