January 31, 2023

About This Article

After experiencing a timeout during operations on January 15, NIRISS observations were paused to conduct a number of tests. These established that the instrument hardware is in good health, and NIRISS was recovered on January 27. Following a successful test observation, the instrument resumed normal science observations on January 30. Observations that were impacted by the pause in NIRISS operations will be rescheduled.
