About This Article
The JWST Exposure Time Calculator (ETC) version 5.0 is now live. This release includes several useful new capabilities and features, including:
- Added support for MIRI Wide Field Slitless Spectroscopy mode
- Added support for four new NIRISS SOSS multi-stripe subarrays for observations of very bright targets with SOSS mode
- Several user interface improvements including a workbook loading indicator, better error messaging, and an easier way to share workbooks
- Updated instruments aperture file parameters, PSFs, and default calculation values have been included for most instrument modes
- Several backend improvements have been made to better support hundreds of simultaneous users
