About This Article
The 18th meeting of the JWST Users Committee (JSTUC) was held in person at STScI on March 27-28, 2025. Topics included a discussion of the overall status of the mission; updates on the JWST pipeline; Cycle 4 TAC results; plans for Cycle 5; JWST user survey results; and an update on the Rocky Worlds DDT program. The JSTUC has submitted their report which includes feedback, updates, and formal recommendations. The report highlights critical resource needs for JWST; recommends continued improvements to the proposal review process and the pipeline data processing; and endorses continued efforts in science community engagement, communication, training, and outreach. The JSTUC calls attention to the need for continued strong support for the telescope.
Are you interested in serving on the JSTUC? The JSTUC advises STScI and the JWST Project on all aspects of observatory operations. Membership is drawn from the U.S., ESA, and CSA communities. Membership lasts for three years, and the committee typically meets twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. We welcome nominations (including self-nominations) at any time. Submissions should be submitted by email to jstuc-nominations@stsci.edu and are encouraged to include a short cover letter, summarizing the nominee’s relevant background and JWST-related interests, and a curriculum vitae.
