April 9, 2026

About This Article

On April 22nd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (US Eastern Time), STScI will host JWebbinar 48: NIRSpec and NIRSS Calibration Update. Nearly 4 years into normal science operations, this JWebbinar will provide an update on the performance and calibration quality of NIRSpec and NIRISS. We will review the status of calibration and pipeline products for each instrument’s observing modes. In the first half of the JWebbinar, NIRSpec will highlight their improvements of their absolute flux calibrations focusing on the IFU, MOS, and FS modes. In the second half, NIRISS will highlight significant improvements for the WFSS mode including trace, wavelength, and photometric calibrations.

Registration is not required for this JWebbinar. The session will be recorded and there will be ample time for questions. Please visit the event page for details and instructions on how to join.

The JWebbinars webpage provides information on the entire series and access to recordings and materials of previous sessions.
