      <Title>Cosmological  simulations of the formation and evolution of bulges, pseudo bulges and bulgeless galaxies.</Title>
      
      <Abstract>How do bulgeless galaxies form?  What is the evolutionary path of the high z clumpy disks observed by HST?  The majority of galaxies in the local Universe do not have classical bulges or consist of a mix of classic and pseudo bulges. These observations are not easily explained within the Lambda CDM scenario, where mergers are ubiquitous at all galaxy masses. We will run cosmological hydro simulations of galaxy formation to study at high resolution the formation and evolution of bulgeless galaxies and of those with bulges and pseudo bulges. We will connect the present day observations of spheroids with those of  clumpy, high z disks.

We will: 

- trace the assembly of the disk and spheroidal component to understand the  role of merging and secular accretion on the time sequence for the evolution  of the two components. 

- Evaluate the effect of SNae and SMBH energy feedback, on the evolution of the central region of galaxies and the evolution of the low angular momentum gas.

We will improve on previous works by: 

- using an  implementation of star formation based on the local abundance of molecular hydrogen

 - modelling thermal feedback and SN and SMBHs generated outflows that remove low angular momentum gas and create realistic dwarf galaxies

 - running cosmological simulations to the present time to naturally link high-z galaxies with their present day counterparts

- creating realistic artificial photometric and spectral observations in all HST filters.</Abstract>
