      <Title>Identifying z&gt;12 galaxies with JWST: What sources produce strong UV emission lines?</Title>
      
      <Abstract>Since the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will effectively operate as a UV telescope for the z&gt;12 Universe, understanding what high-redshift galaxies produce bright UV emission lines is essential in preparing for JWST science on the formation and evolution of the first generations of galaxies. To this end, we propose 3 orbits (1 each of ACS I-, WFC3 J- and H-band) towards the strong lensing cluster RCS 0224-0002 to study the properties of a rare, strongly lensed galaxy at z~5, 300 Myr after the reionisation epoch. Recently, deep MUSE observations have revealed spatially resolved strong CIV 1550A emission within this lensed galaxy, suggesting CIV is produced in low-metallicity nebular regions with ongoing star-formation. Combining these MUSE observations with HST measurements of the brightness and colors of the individual star-forming clumps and the interstellar medium on ~100 pc scales in the source plane of this lensed galaxy will unfold the physical mechanism behind these highly ionised UV emission lines. These insights will enable robust predictions for upcoming JWST observations of similar sources at the cosmic dawn.</Abstract>
