In September 2021, the first ever EUV (60-170 Angstrom) observation of Jupiter was taken by the HRC-S thin filter, revealing an order of magnitude increase in counts compared to previous observations. A simultaneous HST observation mainly focused on Jupiter's disk emission. This campaign will conduct new EUV observations of Jupiter's auroral region coinciding with the final orbits of the Juno spacecraft's mission, supplemented by simultaneous HST observations optimised for auroral viewing. This is the final opportunity of this decade to unveil the physics of Jupiter's dynamic X-ray emission in concert with in situ exploration of Jupiter's magnetosphere. One HST/STIS FUV-MAMA CLEAR filter imaging observation over one science orbit will be taken during each of the Chandra HRC-S observations, with four observations in total. All observations will have 2.5 ks exposure time and be completed in TIMETAG mode, allowing for retrieval of temporal variability during reduction. These observations will provide simultaneous FUV imaging to be compared to the EUV Chandra observation. During PJ 76 (2025-09-14), the Sun-HST-Jupiter angle will be 61 degrees, larger than the 50 degrees minimum acceptable for telescope pointing. This is also true for PJ69 and PJ70 (listed in Table 1). Optimal viewing is obtained with a pointing of 13" towards Jovian North from the centre of the planet as it appears on the sky; these sky coordinates can be determined from ephemerides once the date and time of the observation are known. Given Jupiter's apparent size (35") and the STIS FOV (25"), this will capture nearly the full northern aurorae, as well as low-latitude emission (for calibration against Chandra) and sky background (for calibration against geocoronal H). For these imaging observations, any roll angle is acceptable given reasonably accurate pointing (i.e., ~ 1" accuracy or better, which HST is fully capable of), and so the roll angle constraints due to the separation angle (i.e., +U3 limited to 15-30 off nominal) are acceptable. PI SCM has significant experience with Chandra data, helping to develop a processing pipeline for dealing with Jupiter HRC-I observations that factors in the gain degradation of the instrument over time [McEntee et al., 2022]. SCM also has experience doing multi-wavelength comparisons and using in-situ and remote sensing Juno data to compare with Chandra X-ray observations of Jupiter [McEntee et al., 2023]. Co-I MJR has significant experience with HST UV planetary observations-- having developed a custom data reduction pipeline catering to observations of planetary auroral emissions-- and their relationship to physical processes both in the planet's magnetosphere and near the surface. Co-I ADW has a track record in analysing the X-ray emissions from the outer planets and led a study that linked Jupiter's X-ray and EUV aurorae with XMM-Newton and Hisaki [Wibisono et al., 2021]. ADW is also PI of two Large Programme campaigns with XMM-Newton. Co-I DMW has had vast experience analysing and mapping X-ray emissions from Jupiter, with the CXO data catalog, spanning > 19 years [Weigt et al., 2020, 2021b, 2023], and has contributed to the Chandra 2020 newsletter. DMW has also led a successful DDT CXO proposal to observe, for the first time, potential Saturn aurora during a rare encounter with Jupiter's magnetotail (occurs once every 20 years), a parameter space that is relatively unknown [Weigt et al., 2021a]. Co-I CMJ has led 2 Chandra observing programs of Jupiter, and been Co-I of a further 3, as well as Co-I on 3 XMM-Newton campaigns, PI of 1, and Co-I of 1 NuSTAR campaigns - all of Jupiter's X-rays. She is Co-PI on a successful Juno Participating Scientist proposal (2021) and an Associate Scientist on the JUICE RPWI instrument. Co-I WD's analysis of Chandra observations of Jupiter and Uranus [Dunn et al., 2016; Dunn et al., 2017; Dunn et al., 2020a,b; Dunn et al., 2021, 2022; Dunn, 2022] have supported three Chandra press releases, images for the Chandra Image archive and the lead article for the Chandra 2020 newsletter.
