We propose four HETGS observations of Eta Carina during AO20 to: 1) compare the thermodynamic properties of the X-ray emitting gas in the colliding wind shock 2) compare the spectrum properties with earlier observations to study cycle-to-cycle changes and 3) correlate the current X-ray flow dynamics with the distribution of the circumstellar nebula using HST/STIS spectral mapping. These observations will be part of an overall campaign during the approach to the next periastron passage, including spatially-resolved mapping of the inner wind-wind interaction with the VLTI/MATISSE instrument at scales of 6 mas. The four HST/STIS orbits have been re-allocated to monitor the FUV spectral changes as the X-ray flux increases. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Observations Description ------------------------ The four CVZ orbits will produce data for maps in [Fe II], [Fe III], He I (4706A), [N II].
