Abstract We propose to a program of Chandra and HST observations to test the recent suggestion that the bright X-ray source in Holmberg II is surrounded by a photoionization nebula powered by a central object with a luminosity of order 10^40 erg/s. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Observations Description ------------------------ The main part of the observation is a set of exposures to obtain a deep image of the target in the HeII line at lambda 4686 using the FR462N ramp filter on the ACS/WFC. In addition, shorter exposures will be obtained of the target in the H beta 4861 line, the [O I] 6300 line, and in two continuum bands to permit continuum subtraction of the line images.
