Abstract This is a plan to manage the NICMOS pure parallels of the ACS Ultra Deep Survey. We will obtain a mix of F110W and F160W images along sight-lines within the mosaiced ACS fields of the CDF-S GOODS and GEMS surveys, with these sight-lines enabling an examination of the space density and morphologies of the reddest galaxies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9979( 6) - 08/28/03 10:11 - [ 2] Observations Description ------------------------ Options given are 2-orbit J+H, 1-orbit J+H, 0.5-orbit and 0.25-orbit J-only and H-only. We may adjust priorities at some points during the program if it appears necessary. it appears necessary. So initially, at least, the priority scheme from highest to lowest is 2-orbit J+H, 1-orbit J+H, and then the shorter exposures. Although there may be a bit less time in overhead incurred due to no filter change in the middle of the orbit, the 2-orbit J+H visits use 2 J- sequences the first orbit and 2 H-sequences in the second orbit, so as to mimic the pattern that was set out for the 1-orbit options where 1 sequence is used in each of J + H. All of the observing sequences are SPARS64 which has become more or less a standard kind of sequence for deep field NICMOS observing. Real Time Justification ----------------------- None.
