Abstract We request Director's discretionary time to avoid a gap in understanding the dev elopment of SN 1987A just at the time when it is changing most rapidly from a su pernova into a supernova remnant. There will be no way to go back in time if we fail to do this now. We would like 3 orbits to image SN 1987A in Cycle 12. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Observations Description ------------------------ We propose to continue our imaging through the same set of filters used in Cycle 11: in 3 CVZ orbits, we were able to construct fully-drizzled ACS/HRC images in F555W, F625W, F814W, F658N, F502N, F330W and F435W.
