README File for the Grid of Theoretical UV Spectra of Leitherer et al. (2010)

                     Claus Leitherer - 1 July 2010

This folder contains the grid of theoretical UV spectra discussed in Leitherer et al. (2010; http://xxx.lanl.gov/abs/1006.5624). There are 12 files:

- README (this file)
- ifa_wave.txt (1 file)
- ifa_line_xxx.txt (5 files)
- ifa_cont_xxx.txt (5 files)

xxx indicates the chemical composition: p03 (= "plus 0.3 dex") is 2x solar, p00 is solar, m04 is 0.4x solar, m07 is 0.2x solar, m13 is 0.05x solar.

ifa_wave.txt contains the 4200 wavelength points, arranged as 7 columns by 600 lines. These wavelengths are used for the atmospheric fluxes in the 10 files called ifa_line/cont_xxx.txt.

ifa_line/cont_xxx.txt contains the atmospheric fluxes of the 86 models listed in Table 1 of Leitherer et al. (2010). They are arranged as in the table, i.e., model 1 is the first block of fluxes and model 86 is the last block at the bottom of the file. Each model is defined by Teff and log g in the first line preceding each block of fluxes, followed by the fluxes in 7 columns and 600 lines (like the wavelength grid). The units of the fluxes are erg/s/A/cm/cm, including a factor of "pi", i.e., these are astrophysical fluxes.

ifa_line contains the fully blanketed fluxes, whereas ifa_cont contains the continuum fluxes. Dividing the former by the latter produces a continuum normalized spectrum where the location of the continuum is defined by the models.
