Gregory Sloan

Greg is a support scientist on the MIRI team, with a focus on spectroscopy and calibration.  His research often involves infrared spectroscopy, which he has used to study many topics.  Dust around dying stars, organic material in the interstellar medium, and cool stellar atmospheres are recurring themes.

Science Interests:

• Variability, mass loss, and dust production in evolved stars
• Hydrocarbons in the ISM
• Infrared spectral characteristics of cool stellar atmospheres
• Infrared spectral techniques and calibration
