My main research interests involves: the role of evolution in galaxy properties; the environmental effects in galaxy evolution/formation; the properties of star-forming galaxies at low and high redshifts. I am using IUE data to build a library of B stars and extend a stellar synthesis code (Leitherer & Heckman 1995) in order to reproduce the observed galaxies properties. I am using CO data of galaxies at different environments in order to study the influence of interaction in the gas. I am obtaining spectra and images of interacting galaxies at different redshifts in order to examine the merger rate as a function of redshift and to study the statistical relations between close interacting galaxies and the field galaxy population.
