With Artymowicz (Stockholm) and Seibert (JHU), I am investigating the evolution young planets due to their interactions with the disks from which they form. We are trying to understand range of masses and eccentricities found in the newly discovered extra-solar planets. Artymowicz and I are continuing investigations of gas flows around young binary stars. We predictied that gas streams would carry mass from circumbinary disks onto the central binary. This picture is gaining observational support. Ogilvie (Cambridge) and I are investigating the properties of waves that propagate in accretion disks.
