STScI Mini-Workshop: The Evolution Of Low Luminosity Galaxies And Faint Blue Galaxies

We want to organise this meeting in such a way as to encourage a lot of discussion. Instead of a long list of talks by uninteracting participants, we would like organize long-ish ``sessions'' (1.5 to 2 hours), each driven by the presentation of the invited speaker. The invited speakers will have the only formal ``talks'' listed on the workshop program, and we would like the invited speakers to set the general direction of the discussion through their presentations which will (hopefully) only occupy some fraction of the session and the rest of the time can thus be spent in discussion, involving informal presentations by other meeting participants.

We prefer not to have posters, but to use the discussion format of the sessions to allow people to present recent, interesting results as they pertain to the issue at hand. Such presentations could be planned in advance with the invited speaker and session chair, or might be given imprompu if the speaker is agreeable to this.

Each session will be ``supported'' (kept in order) by a chair who is nominally in charge of facilitating the discussion and preventing the speaker (or any one else) from talking for too long.

We have provisionally divided the speakers into three categories, each represented by a day at the workshop. Thus we anticipate four 1.5 - 2 hour sessions per day.
