March 15, 2007 Howard ! This is Jim McElroy checking in -- Class of 1960, B-CC. What a feeble thing memory is. I look through the Pine Tree, of 1960, and here are all these people I went to school with and only remember about one in ten! At B-CC, I was a pal with John Goldsmith and others in the Visual Aids Squad (or whatever we called it). John and I went on to the University of Maryland and were roommates in our freshman year. I kept track of John for quite a while, but now have lost contact information. At present I work for Honeywell in Redmond, Washington. We are surrounded by Microsoft buildings! We build electronic stuff for aircraft -- weather radar, TCAS, Ground Proximity Warning and the famous "black box" which is actually painted bright fluorescent orange (so it can more easily be spotted in aircraft wreckage, should that ever be necessary.) There are a few people I'd like to be in touch with again. Do you know how to contact John Goldsmith? Laurie Giberman? By the way -- I still have a copy of the class recording -- "The Log." I scrounged around in the basement the other day and dug out my old turntable. It still worked. I played and digitized the record but I still need to edit out the worst of the "clicks" and "pops." When I get to that, I can send you the result to post, if you like. Thanks for your work in putting up the web site for B-CC. Best regards, Jim
